I thought this particular day would be a good day to perform my time belt. I have removed every accessory belts and also pulleys, however am stuck on the crank vibration dampener. I"ve collection the engine to #1 tdc, placed it in gear, had actually someone action on the brakes and reefed the 20mm (i think) bolt top top the dampener, but it wont break loose. The clutch just slips and also i lose tdc. I know if i had an air compressor it would certainly be a different story, however I don"t. So how does one break loosened that vibration dampener sheave by hand?? Time is of the essence, I"d prefer to obtain it done today. Many thanks in advance!-Zak

do you typical the crank sprocket/pulley bolt???take a breaker bar with ideal sized socket top top it. Placed it ~ above the bolt, v the end of the breaker bar sitting on the soil pointing in the direction of the front of the car. If the breaker bar isn"t long enough to reach the ground then take a quick chunk of pipe and also stick it end the end. Generally I use a pipe supplied to pump a hydralic jack. Disconnect the coil cable (ground it out to chassis), then provide the auto a crank, this will break the bolt loose, then just go down and ratchet the bolt the rest of the way out..

Don"t ease it, you don"t should to execute a video camer belt, just take out the allen bolts.
