Did oil and filter adjust this particular day. After putting in 4 quarts, level on dipstick is 20% over minimum/ 80% listed below maximum. This is after beginning engine, and relocating auto to level ground. I had to put in additional 450ML to obtain to 90% over minimum/10% below maximum. Total is 4.47 Quarts / 4.23L.It"s a 2009 Honda Civic DX-G. Owner"s hands-on mentions 3.9 quarts / 3.7 L for oil and filter readjust. This is my first DIY oil readjust. Have I missed something? Is tbelow as well little bit oil in the bottles?https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-nLVE ... ottles.jpg

Well the hands-on is most likely telling you what you must put in to obtain it to minimum.... minimum is what is compelled, not maximum. Plus account for variances you present by driving roughly any, putting it right into a hot engine, or the grade the car is parked on.You really put complete man-made in a civic? I hope it"s simply to extend the OCI lol.

Did you wait for the oil to make its method to the bottom of the oil pan prior to checking the dipstick? My Civic takes 3.7l yet I just have to put around 3l bereason of residual oil in the engine.

I am returning 5 x 4L bottles of quaker state conventional oil (5 x 4L bottles) that I had bought for 5000KM/6month OCI for the next 2.5 years.. One of my colleagues supplies fabricated, he talked me out of typical and into man-made.Extending OCI is reason #1.Better engine security is factor #2. This probably leads to smovarious other engine and longer engine life.Better mileage, factor #3. This is arguable, possibly 1% fuel savings over standard.Winter start is easier, factor #4.

I started engine, moved onto level ground, then checked dipstick.I am wondering if the bottles must be fuller. Noticing the left most bottle"s oil level is at the bottle label. It"s most likely by design to have big enough bottles to leave some air to stop accidental spill, might be to much air?EDIT: the old oil fills up a 3.78L windshield liquid bottle, looks fuller than a brand-new bottle of windshield liquid. I need to test the bottles via water. I suppose to check out 4 x 1 qt bottles of water, at the same level as the new oil, to fill up the very same 3.78L windshield fluid bottle.

When you start up the engine it will spin the oil approximately the engine, to accurately usage the dipstick you have to wait for all the oil to circulation to the bottom of the oil pan...Park on a level surconfront, check tomorrow morning, I guarantee you you will be 1cm above the max oil line

I had dinner, then checked dipstick, it was still at 90% over minimum. Hope tomorrow it will certainly be at the max oil line.
