Here is a quick post on replacing the camshaft sensor.1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

You are watching: 2008 dodge charger camshaft position sensor location

*
2. Locate the camshaft place sensor, it is top top the passenger side in the prior on the block.
*
3. Eliminate 10mm bolt and remove camshaft sensor.
*
4. Unplug sensor, use dielectric grease to new sensor and also plug in, use a tiny amount that grease come o-ring, replace right into block and also tighten bolt. Can"t remember torque spec however will update it when I discover it back.5. Reconnect battery cable.

a camshaft and also a camshaft sensor are different items... We room talking about a sensor ~ above this thread... It have to only take around 5 mins to replace the sensor.... To execute a camshaft have to take a few hours...

wanted to begin a brand-new thread top top this but I figured I"d ask here first. Ns actually changed my camshaft position sensor about a year ago. As soon as I go it, i accidentally crossthreaded the bolt the goes into the block. The was just partially screwed down though, and also I backed it out and also put it earlier in straight, ns think.either way, I just thought around it now and also decided come ask. Is this walk to it is in an problem later on? am ns going to it is in needing to replace that thing again any time soon? i don"t think it was negative the first time, I just replaced it due to the fact that it was reasonably cheap and I had an intermittent starting issue. Aren"t the blocks iron? just how in the civilization was i able to partially strip the threads? or was ns mistaken and also I partially stripped the subject on the bolt?

If that in and tight I would certainly let sleeping dogs lie. If friend do have actually to adjust it again just be cautious when threading it ago in. Probably chase the threads an initial to clean castle up with a tap. Jay

Ok, retard question time concerning number 4.4. Unplug sensor, apply dielectric grease to new sensor and plug in, use a little amount that grease come o-ring, replace into block and also tighten bolt. Can"t remember speak spec yet will upgrade it when I uncover it back.Where specifically on the sensor carry out I use it too? Obviously, that is the part that goes into the block, however the whole thing? Also, carry out I use the very same dielectric grease top top the o-ring? execute I eliminate it and grease, or grease while that is in?Thanks because that the help. I have gained this lengthy cranking start for as well long and also I"m going to provide this a try.

I think he supposed to apply the grease come the terminals. Then use a irradiate amount to the OD of the Oring v it mounted on the sensor. No should coat the whole sensor.I did no do any kind of of this and also it has been yes sir sofar.JayVia Tapatalk
