You are watching: 2006 ford taurus starter relay location

Hey all! Got a question for you Taurus guru"s. My 94 3.8L Taurus wagon is stranded right now and can"t look at the care to see where things are. Wife says it won"t start. Doesn"t hear and clicking or anything. Just dead. Lights and dash work fine. Where is this starter relay located? Is it on the drivers fender well? Just trying to get prepared before I get a ride to try and fix it. Thanks for everyone"s help.Cheers!Sid

I got the wagon home. My haynes manual said that the relay is on the fenderwell but it is not. I grabbed the wires on the solenoid on the starter to se if they were loose and they were not. The cap on the end of the solenoid moved a bit and that must have been enough to make the connection inside again as it started and has started every time since. I will be replacing the solenoid. Thanks for the help.
Yeah, the relay used to be on the fenderwell but it was moved. In grand Haynes tradition, they neglected to update the manual.

Check the single smaller wire that goes to the starter solenoid. It often gets corroded and then causes the starter not to crank. You can get a replacement terminal end for it that should fix that up.
I have a tendancy to wear my mind on my sleeve. I have a history of losing my shirt.- Barenaked Ladies(it suits me so well sometimes, heh)
